Dr. David Lelonek is a graduate of Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated with a Doctor of Optometry Degree from the State University of New York in 1986. His residency in 1986 was with the Rural Upstate New York Program. Dr. Lelonek is happily married with three daughters, and lives here on Long Island. As a young man, Dr. Lelonek achieved the Rank of Eagle Scout, and Vigil Honor, the highest honor in the Order of the Arrow, the National Honored Campers Society, and he is still active in the Scouting Program. Dr. Lelonek has done volunteer work with Vision USA, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, The MS Society, Greater New York and Long Island Blood Banks, American Cancer Society, and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Amongst his honors and achievements, Dr. Lelonek was the 1999 MLB New York Mets Spring Training Optometrist, the 2012 NFL New York Jets Training Camp Optometrist, he has written articles for major optometric publications, he has been listed since 1998 in “Who’s Who in America” and “Who’s Who in Science”, he was a past member of the Executive Board Member of the Solomon Schechter School of of Long Island, and he has received awards from both Vistakon (the makers of Acuvues) and Alcon Vision Care (the maker of Aqua branded contacts) for his superior abilities in fitting specialty contact lenses. Dr. Lelonek’s hobbies include camping, hiking, photography, baseball and computers. Dr. Lelonek is usually in Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
